About The Event
The Missing in America Project (MIAP) is a registered IRS 501c3 nonprofit corporation. The MIAP organization was launched across the country in January of 2007. The focus of the MIAP organizational mission involves a massive nation-wide effort to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed remains of forgotten veterans. This task is executed through the combined, cooperative efforts of members of the American Legion, other volunteer services and veteran service organizations, local Funeral Homes, State Funeral Commissions, State and National Veterans Administration Agencies, and the State and National Veterans' Cemetery Administrations. Local, state and national laws must be followed in the identification, claiming process and proper interment of the unclaimed remains of forgotten veterans.
The MIAP in Arizona conducts two interment ceremonies each year during the months of April and October. For more information, please go to: https://www.miap.us/
